Bodegas Vizar: A Wine Benchmark in Castilla y León
The 20th edition of the National Pinchos and Tapas Competition took place from November 11 to 13 at the Millennium Dome. Bodegas Vizar stood out as a key reference, expertly pairing wines with the creations of the finalist chefs.
This event is recognized as one of the largest live gastronomic showcases. It brought together Spain’s top chefs along with 16 international contenders, all vying for the coveted title of World Tapas Champion.
In this edition, Iñigo Tazón Dilis, with “Los Lunes al Sol” from Gran Sol restaurant in Hondarribia, and Teo Rodríguez, with his tapa “Pucela Roll” from Trasto restaurant in Valladolid, emerged as the winners. They claimed the titles of the 20th National Pinchos and Tapas Competition of Valladolid 2024 and the 8th World Tapas Championship of Valladolid 2024, respectively. Local bars and restaurants partnered with other establishments to offer the competing creations to the public.
An Exceptional Pairing Experience
Bodegas Vizar captured the essence of Vinos de Pago in Castilla y León during the competition. Over the three days, attendees visited the Vizar stand, where they discovered the new vintages of DOP Dehesa Peñalba Vinos de Pago. The highlight was an exclusive pairing of their Syrah del Duero with tapas from Alquimia Restaurant. These were crafted by chef Álvar Hinojal and presented by Emmanuel Ivars.
Bodegas Vizar’s participation in the National Pinchos and Tapas Competition of Valladolid reinforces its dedication to gastronomy and its passion for promoting wine culture in Spain. This solidifies its position as a benchmark in the sector.
